The definition of underrated is to underestimate the extent, value, or importance of (someone or something). Las Vegas’ own Dula-Mite new album is titled that and after one listen it is evident that this is a body of work that should not be approached as such. The album starts out with the banger 2wice and showcases Dula’s witty punchlines and cadence. Lapdance, which has been creating a lot of buzz lately visually and sonically, is a sure fire hit for all the clubs and shows Dula’s ability to be versatile in subject matter.
Turn My Bass Up II picks up right where the first one left off with added heat from wordsmiths Amazin Jackson and Rideout. Hip Hop Legends showcases Dula’s storytelling skills as he reminisces over fond memories of the music of hip hop greats. The strength of this album is the polished production, well placed skits and the sequence of tracks that allow the album to play out like a story.
Overall, the extent, value and importance of UnderRated the album are such that it ensures Dula-Mite has crafted one of the more well rounded albums of 2018.
